Full-time Fixed Term Contract until 27 February 2023 - (Part-time hours will be considered minimum 70% FTE)

The Unit of Academic Primary Care (UAPC) at Warwick Medical School seeks an ambitious Research Fellow who is early in their career and enthusiastic to pursue a primary care research career.

This is a dynamic role which will directly support the development of new research grant proposals and support current research projects in the unit.

The UAPC is a growing team of academics, clinical academics and health services researchers working to improve primary care in the UK and globally through education and research. Our key research themes relate to: digital primary care, women’s and family health, supportive and end of life care, and quality and safety. We have a growing portfolio of externally funded studies related to these themes as described here

The post will require you to work with UAPC colleagues to secure external funding for research relating to primary care and to be involved in the set-up, conduct and completion of research projects. According to the needs of the unit, you will work with experienced principal investigators on a range of primary care focused projects. You will be encouraged to develop a personal post-doctorate fellowship application that fits with the UAPC research themes.

You will have a PhD degree in a relevant discipline (health services research or very closely related discipline). You will have mixed methods research experience (including both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis) and have experience in organising and conducting research projects in the NHS. Experience of engaging directly in research governance processes is essential, as are excellent organisational and communication skills in relation to research. Recent experience of using statistical software is essential.

Where you have not yet been awarded your PhD, any offer made to you will be an under-appointment to the post of Research Associate at a salary of £30,497 per annum. Once your PhD has been awarded and you have evidenced this, you will be appointed to the substantive post of Research Fellow at a salary within the range shown above.

Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the Apply button.
