Full time, fixed term contract until 30 September 2022 (although there may be the possibility of extending for a further period subject to funding. Start date as soon as possible, to be agreed with the successful candidate)

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow position to work on a project funded by The Royal Society. The post-holder will develop, analyse, optimise and implement novel computational MCMC and adaptive MCMC methodology targeting high dimensional spaces. The project will be led by Dr Krzysztof Latuszynski. Collaborators on the project will be Professor Gareth Roberts (University of Warwick) and Dr Alexandre Thiery (National University of Singapore).

The post-holder will become part of the world-renowned Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick, in particular of its world-leading group in computational statistics, and will take active part in workshops, seminars and reading groups in this research area.

You should hold a PhD, together with having strong background in computational statistics that covers at least two of the following fields: MCMC, diffusion processes, numerical stability of algorithms, preparation and publication of computer code for statistical methodology.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD any offer of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£30,497 p.a.) Upon successful award of a PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£31,406 p.a.).
