Deadline: 11 Oct 2019

We are looking to recruit a Research Ethics Manager (Social Sciences and Humanities) in Research Services at the University of Oxford.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the University’s commitment to the highest ethical standards of research involving human participants and personal data. You will use your expertise to act as the principal point of advice for University researchers concerning the ethics of such research in the social sciences and humanities (where this requires review and approval by the University), and to contribute to the development of related University policy and best practice guidance.

Working as part of a small friendly team, you will support the University’s Social Sciences and Humanities Interdivisional Research Ethics Committee (SSH IDREC), liaising closely with members of the Committee, and will have responsibility for managing the SSH IDREC’s ethical review process.

You will contribute to the development of education and training activity for researchers and administrators relating to research involving human participants, through organising and delivering information and training events.

The post will be based in the Research Services offices at 5 Worcester Street, Oxford.

Applications to work part-time (a minimum of 0.8 FTE) will be considered. Applicants should ideally be able to start in post by early 2020.

Prospective applicants may contact Kathryn Dally, Senior Assistant Registrar (tel: 01865 280319; email: [email protected] ) for an informal discussion about this opportunity.

Please upload a CV and supporting statement directly addressing each of the selection criteria as part of your online application.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 11 October 2019. Interviews will be held either on 29 October or 5 November 2019.
