Job Description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is looking to recruit a Research Engineer to work on a research project on smart ground settlement monitoring. This project aims to develop a solution that utilizes various sensors and techniques to monitor and predict ground settlement in real-time. The candidate is expected to work on designing the overall system, liaising with vendors, and developing advanced predictive techniques from the various sensor data. The position will start in March 2021. The appointment will be for 12 months, and renewable up to a further 12 months subject to satisfactory performance. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with the candidates’ experience.
Qualifications
- At least a good Bachelors in Civil Engineering, or related field from a reputable university
- At least one year’s experience in a geotechnical engineering role
- Knowledge of computing and data analytics using Pandas, Numpy and Matplotlib
- Developed systems and user interfaces (e.g. using Tkinter)
- Knowledge of Plaxis and Etabs
- A strong publication record
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
