An exciting opportunity to work as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate has arisen as part of a KTP with Cranfield University and Renishaw plc.
Renishaw is one of the world's leading engineering and scientific technology companies, with expertise in precision measurement and healthcare.
As a KTP Associate, you will work closely with the Cranfield Defence and Security (CDS) academic team at Cranfield University.
You will be the key person to deliver the goals of the project through your skills in technology, as well as your ability to success in challenging environment at times to keep the business plan on course and exceed expectation. The project will focus on novel light emitting diodes (LED) device fabrication engineering.
You will lead the development of new LED devices, addressing some real life manufacturing challenges. You will plan, design, manufacture and characterise the LED devices required to specific engineering applications. You will take charge of a new product development from the start to end and incorporate your design in new commercial products.
As a minimum, this role requires a Master level degree in Physics/Electronic engineering or related subject. It would be advantageous if you also have a PhD, preferably with experimental research in one of these areas.
This role requires knowledge of compound semiconductor materials and devices and that include material assessment and designs, device fabrication processes and lithography techniques and characterisation of LED devices along with reliability testing of LED devices. Knowledge of semiconductor modeling software and experience of using some would also be desirable in this role. This role would suit an individual with excellent compound semiconductor design, simulation and hands on fabrications skills and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Previous demonstrable experience of working with compound semiconductor is also essential.
