Job Description

  • Design of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) and infrastructure-integrated photovoltaic (IIPV) to promote the growth of green buildings and sustainable city.
  • Design and development of modular PV-integrated building components targeting at various markets (commercial, industrial, residential, infrastructure etc.), or according to customers’ specifications.
  • Design goal is to achieve an optimum condition for indoor thermal comfort (for BIPV), visual comfort, and PV performance. Other goals may arise depending on applications.
  • Setup weather station, monitoring sensors and remote logging solution to capture BIPV performance indicators (e.g. PV energy generation, PV specific yield, PV temperature, irradiance, indoor temperature, airflow in cavity etc.).
  • Conduct experiments to find out the correlations between various parameters.
  • Build a simulation model to expedite BIPV design and validate the model with captured data.
  • Solar potential analysis using 3D model that includes surrounding buildings and infrastructures to estimate the annual irradiation for PV yield prediction.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Architecture, passionate in building design for sustainable city.
  • Experienced with graphics & illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop.
  • Experienced in 3D modelling using software such as ArchiCad, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchups.
  • Experienced with solar potential analysis using ray tracing software, e.g. Rhinoceros 3D with Grasshopper plugin.
  • Experienced in setting up weather station, monitoring sensors and remote logging solution for data acquisition.
  • Good at data cleaning, data organization and data analysis using Python or related software such as JMP, Tableau.
  • Experience working on sustainable city design and simulation will be a plus point.
  • Proactive to propose solution and willing to lead a team or project to complete the task effectively.
