The Research Degree Student Services team, which forms part of Registry is looking to appoint a Research Administrator.

Research Administrator Overview

Registry provides an integrated and high-quality suite of professional services which advises, guides and supports the academic mission of the University to applicants, students, partners and staff across the University.

You will ensure that all aspects of student administration are managed efficiently and effectively including data integrity and quality. Additionally, you will provide a high level of administrative support for research enquirers, applicants and students, and service relevant committees and meetings.

Research Administrator Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment processes for postgraduate research, higher degree and professional doctorate examinations
  • Provide full Officer support for at least one Faculty Student Research Board servicing and preparing paperwork for committees
  • Support the application and admissions processes for postgraduate research and Professional Doctorate students.
  • Process Student Financial transactions (e.g. Student Fees, Bursary Payments)
  • Support the Annual Performance Review process

Research Administrator Requirements

  • Commitment to fairness, inclusivity and the promotion of equality and diversity 
  • GCSE minimum Grade C or above in Maths and English A levels or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable administrative experience, preferably within a public sector or educational setting
  • Excellent standard of literacy and numeracy, including report writing and minute taking skills
  • Experience of providing specialist advice and guidance to a customer/end
  • Experience of servicing and organising meetings and events and producing minutes
  • Understanding of GDPR and FOI regulations
