Applications are invited for a Research Centres Communication & Content Officer.  Working in Research and Innovation, the post holder reports to the Research Centres Manager.

The Research Centres Communications & Content Officer works within the Research Centres team, and the wider Research and Innovation Directorate, with primary responsibility to deliver a diverse range of creative content, including print publications and digital channels and impact generation, to support the Centre’s marketing and communications campaigns and a range of impact generating opportunities.   This is a 0.6fte permanent role, based at Battersea, London.

The role involves exercising a range of skills relating to relationship management, administration, and information management, in addition to communicating the work of the Research Centres to wide and diverse audiences. You will be working across the Research Centres on various projects and initiatives, with a particular focus on supporting The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design (HHCD). 

 A key feature of the role will be to develop and implement an effective multi-channel communications plan on behalf of the Research Centres, in order to raise the profile and generate greater impact of research activity.      The role holder will take responsibility for driving projects forward including leading on the management and delivery of the annual Design Different magazine, lead on event campaigns and curate the historic content of the Centres (HHCD has an archive of 30 years).        The post holder will work closely with the Research Centres Manager to enhance  the projects activities and curate a deeper connection with stakeholders, especially the general public.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work autonomously and will have experience in journalism/communications/PR or marketing, preferably from within a research or HE environment, as well as proven publishing, editing and writing skills. You will have experience of working successfully with partners from across academic, public and private sectors and will have knowledge of audience engagement and development. You will be able to confidently liaise with senior colleagues and work effectively across multiple projects and stakeholder groups at any given time.
