This post plays a key role in delivering the objectives of the module, Persistent Pain Project (PPP), within the HealthWise Wales research programme. The Persistent Pain Project module is one of the projects within the CRiiSP consortium funded by UKRI Advanced Pain Development Platform.
The role is based in the Cardiff University School of Medicine, at Heath Park. The main focus of the post will be to contribute to the development, delivery and analysis of the Persistent Pain Project. The successful candidate will also play a key role in analysing the data from the Pain Experience Questionnaire, other modules of Healthwise Wales and linked data of the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage Databank (SAIL) under the supervision of Professor Ernest Choy and in collaboration with other research associates from the CRIISP consortium.
The other key responsibility of the candidate is dissemination through submission of abstract to lay public, people with life experience of pain, scientific meetings, preparing project publications for submission to scientific journals and the preparation of bids to capture grant funding for research projects.

This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week), available from March 2024 and is fixed term until 30th Jun 2025. Work pattern is to be agreed at appointment.
Salary: £39,347 - £44,263 per annum, pro-rata (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
