About the role

We're excited to announce a new opportunity for an experienced researcher to join our Apollo project research group. This EU-funded consortium focuses on the recovery and recycling of high-value elements found in end-of-life electronic devices, such as silver, gold, and copper. Our project aims to develop novel methods for selective dissolution and recovery of materials from waste photovoltaic (PV) panels. We'll also work with manufacturers on device design to make them easier to recycle; this will include concepts such as reversible adhesives and design for disassembly.


About you

Educated to PhD level or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Chemistry, you will need excellent knowledge and experiences relating to recycling technology critical metals. This should include some experience of laboratory management, and supporting/supervising student colleagues. You should have demonstrable analytical and technical/scientific problem solving skills, as well as team working.
