About the role
The Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Leicester are seeking a Research Associate to join them on a fixed term basis to play a key role in the generation and integration of genomic data to drive mechanistic insight, and drug target discovery, for lung disease. You will join a Wellcome Trust funded interdisciplinary collaboration of statistical geneticists, laboratory scientists and respiratory clinicians to take results from genome-wide association studies into the laboratory for functional investigation. The wider programme includes many opportunities to develop research and personal skills, and to build your knowledge and capacity for interdisciplinary working.

About you
As the successful applicant, you will have (or will soon have) a PhD in genomics, statistical genetics, and/or bioinformatics as well as relevant experience in statistical programming (such as R). You will have a good understanding of human genetics and broader human biology. You will have effective interpersonal skills and enjoy working within a team to deliver impactful research.
