About the role

We are seeking a highly ambitious, flexible, and committed Post-doctoral Researcher to join Dr. Ning Wang’s lab within the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at the University of Leicester.

You will work on a project funded by the Prostate Cancer Research and jointly led by Newcastle University, UK. This project aims to examine whether targeting specific glycosylation enzymes could affect the arrival, colonisation, and growth of prostate cancer cells in bone, using a set of cutting-edge in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo techniques. You will also be able to contribute to the supervision of students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The proposed project will be mainly carried out at the Leicester Cancer Research Centre (LCRC). LCRC offers a unique combination of infrastructure and expertise for the planned project that is not available elsewhere in the UK. Our mission is to facilitate world-leading bench-to-bedside research in cancer prevention, early detection, and cutting-edge treatments for solid tumours and haematological malignancies.


About you
Talented and motivated applicants are expected to hold a PhD degree in cancer biology or a related discipline, demonstrating specific experience and skills in pre-clinical models of cancer bone metastasis (in vitro and in vivo), histology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and bioinformatics.
