We are looking to appoint a research associate to contribute to the delivery of a 6-month research council funded scoping project which will investigate the use of AI to enhance museum visitor experience, specifically in relation to biases in AI which stem from the colonial history of museum collections.

This is an excellent opportunity for a post-doctoral researcher to work as part of an interdisciplinary team spanning Politics and International Relations, English, Computer Science, and Digital Culture, and develop knowledge exchange and impact with and for partners and stakeholders in the museums and heritage sector. The role will include contributing to reviewing/synthesising academic literature, scoping/reviewing existing processes for responsible AI, on-site museum scoping work, knowledge exchange and impact activities and the writing of outputs. Please see the full person specification in the job particulars, but in brief we seeking a candidate with an arts, humanities, or social sciences PhD (at or near completion), an ability to contribute to organising events, experience producing high quality research and writing, ability to write for different audiences, experience of arts, humanities, or social science methodologies, effective communication skills, including presentations and social media, good organisational skills, and ability to work both independently and closely with a team.
