This is an opportunity to join a successful research group, working on the fundamental biology of inflammatory events directly mediating clinical outcomes in ophthalmology and neurodegeneration.

Reporting to Professor Curtis Dobson, as a research associate you will contribute to and manage specific research projects.  The research associate post requires a PhD in immunology, inflammation or associated bioinformatics disciplines, along with some experience of flow cytometry techniques.  Experience of developing or using bioinformatics approaches to interrogate complex datasets would be an advantage.

As a research fellow you will coordinate key research projects and additionally contribute directly to the group’s longer term strategic funding and development.  The research fellow post requires a PhD in immunology or inflammation, at least 3 years relevant postdoctoral experience in academia or industry, and experience of flow (or mass) cytometry techniques, including data analysis of complex datasets. An appropriate publication track record is also essential for both posts.  

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and capable of exercising initiative and judgement in carrying out research tasks.

This post is initially advertised for one year with the possibility of extension. We aim to appoint a candidate to begin work on 1st February 2022.
