The post-doctoral researcher appointed to work on this project at KCL will be working on defining the biology of human cardiac stem/progenitor cells for their use in myocardial repair and regeneration. They will utilise in vitro protocols.
The applicant should have a relevant degree and PhD, and previous experience of working in a research environment. They will be highly motivated, ability to meet deadlines and show initiative, and able to work independently and part of a team. They will have an interest in stem cell and cardiovascular research. They will have experience and skills in cell culture, qRT-PCR, karyotyping, isolation of cells from solid tissue by enzymatic digestion techniques (desirable), flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy.
This post will be fixed term contract for 9 months. Extension possible based on performance and availability of funds.
The selection process will include a panel interview.
This is a full-time (100 % full time equivalent).
