KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to work on …

• The Research Associate (RA) will provide high quality research support in the areas related to developing novel blockchain-based solutions for tracking and tracking and securing UAV/Drones
• The RA will provide high quality research and prototype development in areas related to Blockchain, UAV/Drones, software development of smart contracts and decentralized mobile and web-based applications.
• To present research plans and findings leading to high impact publications contributing to the academic and research mission of the project in a convincing style, to understand research group management and assist in supervision of graduate students.

As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the Center for cyber physical systems (https://www.ku.ac.ae/c2p s) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.

Position Requirements

• The candidate should hold a Masters’s degree in Engineering Systems and Management or Electrical and /or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field with extensive knowledge and diverse experience in programming platforms and business applications
• Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Qualifications

• Masters’s degree in Engineering Systems and Management or Electrical and /or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field Experience of undertaking assigned research tasks and contributing to academic outputs
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines
• Well-developed reasoning and problem-solving skills

Desired Criteria

• Excellent programming skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Evidence of strong publication profile in highly reputable journals
• Experience in developing solutions using Ethereum, Smartcontracts, Hyperledger and IoT device integration
• Experience contributing to high impact publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field
