Research Associate (Fixed Term)

Updated: over 2 years ago
Location: Cambridge, ENGLAND
Job Type: Permanent
Deadline: 31 Oct 2021

Applications are invited for a research associate to join the INTREPID project B Cell and T Cell Repertoire Analysis work package lead by Dr Rachael Bashford-Rogers. This post will predominantly be based in the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology & Infectious Disease at the University of Cambridge with training work and subsequent remote working at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this significant project on Primary Immunodeficiency (PID) that aims to expand a whole genome sequencing (WGS) PID cohort, already the world's largest, and develop additional specialised statistical tools to incorporate deep clinical, immunophenotyping and antigen receptor repertoire data to enhance WGS analysis techniques.

We are looking for an experienced postdoctoral scientist to coordinate and run the B cell and T cell repertoire analysis work stream. This will involve running flow cytometry assays to analyse leucocyte populations, flow sorting of individual leucocyte populations including antigen specific B cells, molecular and immunological phenotyping of specific genetic variants and carrying out RNA extractions and library preparations for antigen receptor repertoire sequencing. There will also be a significant data aspect to this role which will include performing integrative analyses of immune and molecular phenotype, immune repertoire, genetic and clinical data. The successful applicant will need to work with a high degree of independence whilst collaborating closely with research teams at both the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology & Infectious Disease and the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics.

Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be directed to Emily Li ([email protected] )

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
