A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available within the group of Professor Giles Yeo at the Institute of Metabolic Science (IMS), focused on mapping the feeding circuitry in human hindbrain using single cell and spatial transcriptomic approaches. The work is funded by an industry grant from Novo Nordisk.
Scientists are encouraged to apply if they have substantial practical experience in the neuroscience of energy balance and metabolism. Applicants should have a background in the generation and analysis of single cell and spatial transcriptomics data. The role holder will be responsible for running their own research projects and will work with a small group of post docs and PhD students who have overlapping expertise.
Major responsibilities will be:
- Generation of single-nucleus RNAseq and spatial transcriptomic data from human hindbrain.
- Integrating the single cell and spatial transcriptomic data to form a spatio-cellular map of the human hindbrain.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 October 2024 in the first instance.
