The Evolutionary Genomics laboratory in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research associate to work on the mechanisms underlying adaptation to extreme environment in vertebrates.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on the genomic of adaptation in native and invasive populations of the frog Xenopus laevis. The research project will combine field, comparative genomics and population genetics. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a PhD in biology, preferably with expertise in evolutionary biology or genetics.  Excellent experimental and in silico skills relevant to the project (in particular genomics and bioinformatics) are required.

The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
