Research Associate in Synthetic Organometallic Chemistry (fixed-term post)

We are looking to recruit a Research Associate to join the organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis research group of Dr Ulrich Hintermair in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bath.

A full-time position funded for up to 9 months is available to carry out fundamental investigations into the f-block chemistry of substituted pentalenide ligands as part of a larger Royal Society funded research programme into cooperative effects in dinuclear organometallics . The project will require a skilled inorganic chemist with experience in synthetic organometallic chemistry (specifically with air-sensitive reagents), organic synthesis, spectroscopy and electrochemistry, but strong candidates from related fields will also be considered. Experience in lanthanide coordination chemistry would be desirable but is not essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated individual who integrates well into our team, possesses excellent communication skills, and is fully committed to research excellence. You will have demonstrated your ability to self-study and undertake ambitious, original research with close attention to detail through a PhD in relevant areas (or be nearing completion) and a strong publication track record. You will benefit from working in a diverse and dynamic research group in a well-equipped laboratory with access to excellent research facilities.
