Our Department emphasises the unity of Mathematics and there are strong interactions between all research groups: AIMS, NASC, Probability (ProbL@B), Statistics, Analysis and PDEs and AGeNT. Impact is achieved through a wide variety of interdisciplinary research projects, and industrial collaborations.

These activities are supported by the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics at Bath (SAMBa), which has currently over 80 PhD students. In addition, the Bath Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI), promotes, and supports, cross-campus research activities, industrial, and international collaborations, in all areas of mathematics and statistics. Various research centres such as the Centre for Mathematical Biology (CMB), the Centre for Mathematics and Algorithms for Data (MAD), the Centre for Networks and Collective Behaviour (CNCB), and the Centre for Nonlinear Mechanics (CNM), provide focus in interdisciplinary collaborations.
