The Health Economics Group at Norwich Medical School seeks to recruit a collaborative and motivated Research Associate to contribute to the Group’s research profile. This post is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a project funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR). The programme grant is called ECO and aims to promote effective eczema self-care by improving individuals’ knowledge of eczema treatments and influencing attitudes, skills, and habits related to treatment use. For further details of the project see: https://www.southampton.ac.uk/medicine/academic_units/projects/eco.page
The successful candidate will, in collaboration with colleagues also working on ECO:
- Identify unit costs for the resources used and use these to value the resources used in the trials using individual level data;
- Value health outcomes, including Quality Adjusted Life Years;
- Undertake incremental cost effectiveness analyses;
- Contribute to the development of an economic model;
- Explore various sensitivity analyses, including the handling of any missing data;
- Contribute to the write-up and presentation of the study results through a range of mediums but including academic publication.
Key to the post will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will have an undergraduate degree in economics, operational research, Mathematics or other quantitative subject, or a relevant health-related degree with significant quantitative subject component. Ideally you will be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification in health economics (or related subject with a major quantitative component). It would also be useful for you to be familiar with methods of health economic evaluation.
This is a full-time, fixed term post with funding from 1 September 2022 until 28 February 2023. We are open to considering flexible working patterns in line with appropriate UEA policy.
Closing date: 1 June 2022.
