The research center on stability, instability and weak turbulence at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for fully-funded research associate positions in the following areas:

• Stability of 2D/3D crowd motion and multi-level building evacuation using mean-field-type games.
• Develop mean-field-type game theory with application to future cities including intelligent transportation, and smart energy
• Conduct experiments on users’ behavior and system design in mean-field-type game theory
• Develop integrated engineering science and psychology framework to model, analyze and understand players in mean-field-type game theory
• Develop strategic learning algorithms for the integration of mean-field-type game theory

The research center on stability, instability and turbulence (SITE) is highly interdisciplinary. SITE aims to develop novel enabling technology on hydrodynamic stability analysis that has applications in the study of the development of singularities, the long-time behavior of complex systems, the formation of spatial patterns, the transition between stability and instability, and the first steps of transition towards turbulence that appear in several disciplines across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field for more than five years. PhD holders with a strong publication record, a background in singularity formation, 3D deep strategic learning, and experience with experimental and computational mean-field-type game theory are encouraged to apply. This position is not located in the United States. You must be willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
