We seek candidates with an enthusiasm for advanced functional materials and ultrafast spectroscopy to work on a research project focused on nanoscale optoelecronic charaterisation of low-dimensional materials. The team at Manchester are amongst international leaders in terahertz characterisation of materials, who have received significant research funding and presitigous awards from UK research councils in support of this research.

Your role will be to lead in the development of novel near-field terahertz microscopy and spectroscopy techniques to study the fundamental optoelectronic properties of Dirac materials, including topological insulators and 2D Dirac semi-metals. You will also play a role in the design, fabrication and measurement of new optoelectronic devices, such as terahertz photodetectors and modulators, incorporating these materials.
