This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented researcher to join the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives Research Group (PEMC) at the University of Nottingham group and become a core member of a team researching power electronic converter design, control, construction and testing of power electronic converters in high power applications. The PEMC Research Group has undergone a significant period of growth and now has over 160 members, with over 20 academics (including 7 full professors) and approximately 120 PhD students and post-doctoral research fellows. The group has excellent facilities for experimental work including approximately 3500m2 of research space and a construction and testing capability up to 5MW. The current post arises from projects with key industrial partners in the field of electromagnetic design of electrical machines for which a research fellow with experience in electrical machine design is required.

Candidates should hold or be shortly due to obtain a PhD, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering related to work on Power Electronic Converters or a very closely related topic. They should also have extensive knowledge of the technologies needed in Power Converter design and implementation, and practical experience of the design and testing of Power Electronic Converters.

This is a full-time (36.25 hours) role and will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31/12/2025. Job share arrangements may be considered.
