£28762 to £43414 per annum (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £32348 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow in High Power, Power Electronic Converters in the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Research Group at the University of Nottingham. The post has been created to support ongoing research projects including the design, simulation and construction of large power converters. The PEMC group has undergone a significant period of growth and now has over 160 members, with 20 academics (including 7 full professors) and approximately 80 PhD students and 60 post-doctoral research fellows.  The group has excellent facilities and moved to a new, dedicated, 5500m^2 building in 2021.

The successful candidate will undertake research on power electronic converter design, control, construction and testing of power electronic converters in high power applications.

Candidates should have a PhD (or shortly due to obtain) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering related to work on Power Electronic Converters or a very closely related topic. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of the technologies needed in Power Converter design and implementation and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information with clarity.

This is a full-time (36.25 Hours) post and will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31/01/2024. Job share arrangements may be considered.
