We are looking for a Research Associate / Fellow in Digital Manufacturing to join our friendly and inclusive team within Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham. 

Our team is world leading in advanced manufacturing, robotics, digitalization, and factory automation. As part of the research team, the role holder will contribute to the EPSRC funded Elastic Manufacturing Systems (EMS) project. The EMS project aims to develop and demonstrate a new concept of Elasticity in Manufacturing Systems. This will allow future manufacturing operations to be delivered as a service, based on dynamic resource requirements and provision. 

The successful candidate will contribute to the following areas: 

  • Support the development of digital manufacturing 'apps', building on existing methods to contain and deploy apps, adapted and applied to operational technology environments. 
  • Develop and enhance existing app prototypes, including an app for monitoring the energy consumption of manufacturing robotics.
