A Research Associate/Fellow is required to undertake research as part of BBSRC-funded sLoLa grant titled: “SUMOCode: deciphering how SUMOylation enables plants to adapt to their environment”. The successful candidate will employ genetic, molecular, and physiological approaches in conjunction with omics techniques to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that govern root growth responses to high temperature in model plant arabidopsis and in rice. This exciting project is a collaborative effort involving biologists, biochemists, bioinformaticians and biophysicists, working at different universities (Nottingham, Durham, Cambridge and Liverpool) across the UK.

Candidate must hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology or Genetics or related biological science.

This full-time post (36.25 hours) is available from 1st April 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a 12-month, fixed term contract. Arrangements for job share may be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
