Salary £27511 to £40322 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

A post-doctoral research position in the field of spintronics and magnetic materials is available in the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nottingham. The researcher is expected to actively contribute to our ongoing activities in antiferromagnetic spintronics and thin film materials development.

The project is part of the European Commission funded research collaboration ASPIN which aims to explore intertwined research areas based on antiferromagnetic memory-logic concepts and devices: ASPIN (uni-mainz.de) .

The applicant should have, or expect to soon obtain, a PhD in Physics or a related area. Experience of thin film structural or magnetic characterization is essential, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to organise experiments and deploy resources effectively.

This is a full time, fixed term post until 31 August 2022. Job share arrangements may be considered.
