Salary: £28762 to £34308 per annum (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £32348 with relevant PhD).

The University of Nottingham is inviting applications for a Research Associate/Fellow to join our exciting EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) funded project to develop new incremental sheet forming (ISF) processes for applications in medical engineering and other industrial sectors in close collaboration with a number of academic and industrial partners. 

 As a highly motivated researcher, you are expected to have the skills in experimental testing, material characterisation, analytical and computational modelling to make an impact to a range of research and collaborative activities of the project. You will also have the opportunity to support new materials forming and processing focused research at Nottingham.

You should have a minimum 2:1 1st degree, a PhD (or is about to complete PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences or related disciplines. You should have substantial experience in ISF focused research and skills in material characterisation, formability assessment, and analytical or finite element modelling of material deformation and damage under different ISF processing conditions for a range of metallic and non-metallic materials. 

 You should have a good record of research paper publication in ISF and related areas, experience in participation to collaborative research, and skills in efficient communication, dissemination and outreach activities. The candidate should also have skills in project management and coordination of project tasks.
