Salary £27924 to £40927 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £31406 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

The purpose of this role will be to assist and support the principal investigator’s research team in carrying out this academic research, which includes the planning of local delivery, promoting the study, recruiting volunteers for the clinical study, coordinating visits, overseeing the study and carrying out analyses and investigations together with drafting of reports.

The post sits within the Academic Unit of Translational Medical Sciences, Centre for Respiratory Research and NIHR Nottingham BRC respiratory theme at the City Hospital campus of the University of Nottingham. In collaboration with Imperial College, the British Lung Foundation and several universities across the UK, Nottingham has been awarded a prestigious grant to monitor current smokers before they develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and determine who goes on to develop the disease. This study has important implications for understanding the disease and risk and is likely to lead to significant impact.

The role holder will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend their research portfolio.

The post will be offered until 28 February 2022. The post is full time, but application for part time working are also welcome, minimum 18h per week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
