Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Viral Immunology at Cardiff University School of Medicine. The project aims to develop immunotherapies capable of treating human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) disease. HCMV is the leading viral cause of congenital malformation and responsible for severe morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. The laboratory has pioneered technologies for propagating HCMV isolates fully representative of the causative agent of clinical disease, leading to the development of an international diagnostic standard for HCMV. The project will utilise these viruses in a program combining cutting edge molecular virology and immunology technologies, in an internationally-respected laboratory.

Candidates with experience in virology, molecular biology and/or immunology are highly encouraged to apply.
