We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the newly established Provine Group within the Pandemic Sciences Institute. The group focuses on unravelling the mechanisms regulating vaccine-induced immune responses – with focuses on both T cell and B cell responses.

As the Research Assistant, you will work closely with other lab members in the design and execution of ‘omics-based experiments, and you will manage your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues. You will be responsible for the preparation of sequencing libraries (primarily 10x Genomics’ pipeline). You will prepare and store human material for a variety of immune assays, and order and maintain supplies and equipment relevant to ‘omics experiments, and general running of the laboratory. Additionally, you will participate in the development and optimization of assays to measure alterations in T/B cell function.

It is essential that you hold a BSc in biology, immunology, microbiology, or equivalent. You will have experience organising a complex research project across multiple labs/groups, and expertise in 10x Genomics single-cell RNA-sequencing library preparation. You will be experienced in processing human blood and tissue for immune assays, and performing flow cytometry. It is essential you are highly self-motivated and able to work independently. A MSc in immunology or biology would be desirable.
