Fixed-Term, Part-Time (0.8FTE) 

Applications are invited for a part-time (.8 FTE) Research Assistant to work with the research team at the Lab of Action & Body led by Professor  Manos Tsakiris and assist with the development of the ERC-funded INtheSELF project ( https://www.manostsakiris.org/intheself ). Our lab uses behavioral, neuroimaging and psychophysiological techniques to explore the neurocognitive mechanisms interoception and especially as they relate to body-awareness and social cognition.

The research assistant will assists us on our data collection and data analysis. Therefore experience with R, Python and MATLAB is essential. Experience with psychophysiological experiments is essential. Successful applicants are expected to have a proven track record of contributions to peer-reviewed research papers as authors.  

The position is designed for an individual with a BSc (minimum required degree classification of 2:1) in Psychology, a MSc degree in Psychology or Neuroecience and proven research experience in quantitative psychological or neuroscience experiments. 

An ability to work independently with good judgment, organizational and time management skills is necessary.  Excellent writing and oral communication skills are necessary. 

The Psychology Department, located in Egham, close to Central London, has an excellent research profile (rated 6th in the latest Research Excellence Framework) and benefits from state-of-the-art research facilities (e.g. MRI, TMS, EEG, cognitive behavioural testing suites, Babylab).
