The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a candidate to the post of Research Assistant/Research Fellow to conduct research in relation to the life cycle assessment of electric foiling commercial maritime transportation in close collaboration with industrial partners, Artemis Technologies, and other partners of the Belfast Maritime Consortium.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • An undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or other related fields.

To be considered for the Research Fellow post candidates must have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or other related fields.

  • Demonstrable knowledge commensurate with experience in the following:
    • The life cycle assessment.
    • Statistical and probabilistic analysis.
    • SimaPro or other related tools for the Life cycle assessment.

The role/s are fixed term until 31 December 2024. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
