Job Description

The research group of Dzmitry Matsukevich at the Center of Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore is looking for a research assistant to join our team in development of ion trap-based quantum computers and quantum simulators. The successful candidate will work on maintaining the experimental control software for the ion trap experimental setup, integrating it with the open source Qiskit library for quantum computations and porting old legacy code for the experimental control software written in Python2 using QT4 framework to Python3 and Qt5.

The candidate will also help with other technical projects in the lab, such as building and troubleshooting electronics circuits, performing optical alignment and assisting with running and troubleshooting experimental setup.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics or computer science, dual degree is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of physics and ability to apply this knowledge in the lab environment.
  • Familiarity with Python programming in a scientific environment.
  • Experience with the Linux OS, Qt framework and git version control system.
  • Prior lab experience with atomic physics experimental lab is a plus.
  • Fast learner, able to work independently.
