Job Description & Requirements For a research project on quantum interfaces in the framework of a quantum engineering programme we are looking for a Research Assistant to work on an experimental project of coupling single photons to singe atoms.

The work would encompass the design, implementation and characterization of optical systems in a vacuum environment, laser cooling and excitation techniques, and single photon level optical detection. Therefore, a background in experimental physics with a focus on quantum optical techniques, optical resonators and basic atom-light interaction would be expected from a successful candidate.
