Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) / Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) (several posts) in the Division of Health Economics, Policy and Management, School of Public Health (Ref.: 522921) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis for RAP, or on a two-year temporary basis for PDF, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, health services research or other health-related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experiences. They should have a track record of academic research publications, strong quantitative background, and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Expertise in biostatistics/health economic outcomes research, proficiency in data analysis (e.g., R programming), and experience in managing research projects would be highly desirable. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as PDF.

The appointees will participate in multi-year research programmes on policy/programme evaluation and cost-effectiveness of public health programmes. For example, (i) breast cancer screening programme, (ii) genetic risk tailored cancer screening, and (iii) Hong Kong genome project. They will coordinate research projects, prepare academic reports/publications, supervise junior research staff, and perform other duties as assigned. Enquiries about the duties of the posts should be sent to Dr. Jianchao Quan at jquan@hku.hk .

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The RAP appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
