The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We seek to recruit three talented scientists to join a team of researchers and support staff undertaking a major programme of research and teaching in the Cancer Survival Group, part of the Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. 

The post-holders will be enthusiastic researchers looking for new opportunities and a chance to address challenging research questions in cancer epidemiology. 

The post-holders will have a relevant first degree in biostatistics, epidemiology or equivalent subjects at Research Assistant level or a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic at Research Fellow level. The post-holders will have a track record showing capacity to learn new methodologies, develop statistical models and analyse complex data sets. They will be self-motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal skills, and capable of working as part of a large international collaborative team, as well as independently. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term for 12 months. The post is funded by the Cancer Research UK and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic salary scale Grade 5 in the range £38,282-£43,947 for Research Assistant or Grade 6 in the range £43,947-£49,908 for Research Fellow per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
