Offer Description

School/Department: School of Water, Energy and Environment
Based at: Cranfield Campus, Cranfield, Bedfordshire
Hours of work: 37 hours per week, normally worked Monday to Friday. Flexible working will be considered.
Contract type: Fixed term contract
Fixed Term Period: Until 28 February 2025
Salary: £28,203 per annum - Research Assistant (if Masters obtained). £28,203 per annum to £32,039 per annum, with potential progression up to £34,450 ( if close to completing PhD). £37,337 per annum - Research Fellow (if PhD obtained)

Role Description

About the Role

You will be working within an established research team developing a reinvented toilet system for multi-households - this will require a combination of responsibilities that range from design, build, testing, maintenance, and general upkeep of a novel toilet technology. The level of duties will vary depending on the level you are appointed at.  Please see job description for further details.

About You

You will have mechatronics and system programming experience - specifically using Arduino and Raspberry Pi hardware. Your communication and time management skills must be impeccable, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are achieved to time and to high qualitySuperb oral and written communication skills and presentation skills, and good technical writing skills in English. Including the ability to produce high quality manuscripts. Please note, due to the requirements of the project, internationally travel will be expected, and you should therefore have no travel restrictions on your passport
