About the Role

This post will be contributing to a funded project as part of a large team.  It involves research activities within the Aircraft Design Group, especially focusing on the conceptual and preliminary design of civil aircraft and the development of design techniques in the light of preliminary design outputs. The focus will be on the delivery of commissioned research in collaboration with many other researchers in a multidisciplinary context.

About You

To be appointed at Research Fellow level, you will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject (or close to completion of your PhD) with the relevant experience and necessary knowledge of aerospace systems and vehicles.  Alternatively, you may be considered for a role as Research Assistant, provided you have a relevant Masters level degree in Aerospace & required knowledge and skills. In addition to the above, you will have experience in structural design as well as computer programming experience. With excellent communication skills, you will also be a good team player, enjoy presenting, and have the ability to cope with pressure.  Project planning is also an important skill for this post and successful applicants will be able to demonstrate self-motivation, perseverance, and initiative.
