Research Assistant; Neuroscience, Ethics and Society

We wish to appoint a full time Research Assistant to work across two projects: 'Peer-to-Peer Support to help Adolescents Cope with Moral Distress during Covid-19', funded by the Westminster Foundation; and 'Becoming Good: Early Intervention and Moral Development in Child Psychiatry (BeGOOD)', funded by the Wellcome Trust. You will be located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team. Led by Professor Ilina Singh the NEUROSEC team has an international reputation for its work in neuroethics and psychiatric ethics. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is full time however consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis.

The post is for a fixed term in the first instance (six months ).

You will report to Professor Ilina Singh and will work closely with Dr. Gabriela Pavarini to assist in the development of both projects (literature reviews, participant recruitment, data collection and analysis) as well as support the organization of the NeurOx Young People's Advisory Group.

You will have a BSc (2:1 or above) in bioethics, psychology, or a relevant social science discipline with a substantial data analysis component. You will have experience in empirical research in psychology, psychiatry, bioethics or related field; experience working or conducting research with adolescents; knowledge of mental health research and well-being interventions; and quantitative data analysis skills and experience with statistical software such as SPSS and R. Qualitative data analysis using NVivo or equivalent software and knowledge/ experience of peer to peer support is desirable.
