Following the University’s investment in a Centre for Biomimetic Societal Futures, we are seeking a Research Assistant with expertise in corpus linguistics to work on a research project exploring how models and systems from nature can be used to develop sustainable solutions to societal problems. Your role will be to evaluate societal perceptions of specific issues and themes in order to support the development of innovative design engineering solutions.

Based in the Institute for Applied Linguistics in the School of Arts and Humanities, the post offers an excellent opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team of researchers working across the following Schools: Applied Sciences, Arts and Humanities, the Business School, Computing and Engineering, Education and Professional Development, and Human and Health Sciences.

The successful candidate will have expertise and practical experience in corpus linguistics, including corpus construction and corpus-based approaches to language analysis.
