Research Assistant in Brain Health (Ageing and Dementia)

The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry.  The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a research assistant to join the Oxford Brain Health Clinic (BHC), part of the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. The Oxford Brain Health Clinic (BHC) is an integrated clinical and research service, established to bridge the gap between research and clinical care for people with memory problems

About the Role

The post is funded for 12 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.  

You will support the delivery of research within the Oxford Brain Health Clinic (BHC) and the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre Dementia Theme. You will contribute to wider project planning, including ideas for new research projects. You will collect informed consent and administer neuropsychological tests, or qualitative interviews and support participants through the process. 

About You

You will hold a first degree in psychology, neuroscience or other relevant area of discipline. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in brain ageing research, dementia or cognitive disorders to work within established research programmes. Experience of administering neuropsychological tests and/or running psychological tasks on human participants is desirable.
