We are seeking a talented postgraduate Research Assistant to join the Institute for Community Research and Development.
The Institute for Community Research and Development (ICRD) was established in 2017 to undertake applied research that drives policy developments, delivers effective community-based transformational projects, and promotes social mobility. Working collaboratively with local communities, ICRD uses interdisciplinary expertise to affect positive change in local communities, increase knowledge, and shape local and national policy. ICRD works to improve the lives of individuals in the region and works with partners to champion change. Our core themes are: Social and Community Wellbeing; Criminal Justice and Violence Prevention; Tackling Inequalities through Heritage and the Arts; and Migration and Mobilities.
We welcome applications from candidates who can contribute their research skills to supporting ICRD researchers based in the Department of Social Sciences with a specific focus on projects in Criminology and Social Policy. To be considered for this Research Assistant post you will be
qualified to postgraduate level and undertaking a PhD in one or more of the following academic disciplines: social policy, sociology, criminology, or criminal justice.
You will have experience of applied research, with relevant and appropriate research methodologies. You will have research skills including literature review, data analysis, and reporting and disseminating. You will have strong and flexible teamwork skills and good time management skills.
This role will be until July 2024.
