The Wellcome - Medical Research Council Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is an international centre of excellence for stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Scientists in the Institute collaborate to advance our knowledge of various stem cell types and to perform pioneering work in translational research areas, providing the foundation for new medical treatments (https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/ ).

We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable and well-trained research assistant to join the research team of Dr Joo-Hyeon Lee (https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/people/pi/lee ). Lee lab studies how stem cells sense environmental changes and determine their cell fate in lung homeostasis and during lung regeneration after injury repair utilising sophisticated genetic mouse models with lineage tracing techniques, high-resolution imaging analysis, single cell transcriptomics, ex vivo mouse and patient-derived human organoid culture with CRISPR-mediated gene regulation. Successful applicants will learn diverse state-of-art techniques and be actively involved in research projects, as well as support the management of the lab. 

Requirement:

Successful applicants should have a Bachelor degree in a Bioscience related subject. Experience of murine genetic models and primary cell cultures is essential. Experience in mouse line generation, CRISPR genome editing, flow cytometry analysis, and confocal image analysis will be highly advantageous. Good knowledge in development and stem cell biology, and molecular cloning would be preferable. We are looking for applications from highly organised, independent, and collaborative candidates. 

Start date is flexible but can be as early as Oct 2021.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
