The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit is looking to appoint a highly independent Research Assistant to join Dr Vito Mennella's research group. The ideal candidate will have exceptional intellectual curiosity and motivation with proven track record of timely project delivery and capacity to integrate scientific information. Your role will be to support the research activities of the group; conduct your own research projects within the remit of the research programme and help to run the day-to-day operations of the lab.
The project offers the exciting opportunity to integrate advanced imaging technologies (e.g. super-resolution imaging and volumetric Electron Microscopy) with molecular and cell biology methods to enable characterisation and obtain novel insights on multiprotein signalling complexes that regulate cellular functions during environmental exposure.
Applicants must hold a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Translational Medicine) and have experience in establishment of cell culture models and imaging. Enthusiasm for working in a diverse inter-disciplinary team is essential.
