Hours: Full-time: 35 hours per week. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible.

Salary: £27,582 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

The Research Assistant will join the Child Attachment and Psychological Therapies Research (ChAPTRe) Unit, set up in 2017 as a partnership between Anna Freud and University College London (UCL). The mission of the research unit is to provide a space for developing and conducting psychotherapy research related to children and young people.

The post-holder will join the ERiC (Emotion Regulation in Children) Study to support the development and delivery of this randomised control trial (RCT) of a mentalisation-based treatment (MBT) for school-age children and families, delivered through Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYMH) Services.

This role would be suited to confident postgraduate researchers with experience and an interest in working closely with CYMH Services and in the area of child mental health. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel. They should be committed to conducting ethical research to a high standard, collaborating with a range of stake-holders, and aiming to help develop evidence-based practice in child mental health. Experience of research in NHS settings and/or in local authority or educational services for children and families will be helpful for this role.

Location

Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, either at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) or our Northern Hub (Huckletree, The Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester M4 5AD).

Contract duration

Permanent.
