Research Assistant – CSI-COP EU Horizon2020

Full-time, fixed short-term contract until 30/06/2023

This is a unique short-term research post which will be based in the Research Centre for Computational Science and Mathematical Modelling (CSM) at Coventry University. The Research Assistant role will provide high level of professional support to the Coordinating Partner, Coventry University, and will collaborate with an international consortium on an EU Horizon2020 funded research and innovation project ‘Citizen Scientists Investigating Cookies and App GDPR compliance’ (CSI-COP).

The candidate should have computer science expertise with a relevant degree or appropriate experience in computing (database architecture). The candidate should have some knowledge about searchable database development. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to cooperate as part of an international team. The candidate would benefit from speaking one of the translated languages of CSI-COP project as well as English (particularly helpful would be one of these: French, German, Italian or Polish). The candidate should have an interest to contribute to scientific publications in collaboration with the CSI-COP team and under the supervision of the Director of Science. The candidate should have an interested in online data-privacy. The post-holder will be ambitious and have innovative ideas and a great interest in engaging members of the general public in raising awareness of the human right to privacy online. The role would suit an individual who is committed to advocating privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default websites and smart phone apps to protect everyone’s and especially children’s data.
