About the role:

Working in the School of Life Sciences on our Cambridge campus, you will join the research group of the Head of School, Professor Chris Parris. The appointment is for 7-8 months and will involve working very closely with our commercial sponsor MedAnnex Ltd, Edinburgh, Scotland.

You will conduct research leading to identifying the mechanisms of action of a novel antibody which targets the annexin A1 (ANXA1) protein. Our previous investigations have shown this antibody to exert an anticancer effect on cell lines derived from ovarian, pancreatic, colorectal, breast cancer and glioblastoma. We are currently conducting investigations to determine how the anti-ANXA1 antibody, suppresses cell signalling, cell cycle progression, angiogenesis and metastasis leading to tumour to cell death.

With a BSc Degree in a biological science-related subject area, we seek an individual with an enthusiastic approach who has experience in cell biology, cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques. They must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have the ability to think innovatively and be able to critically analyse data or information.
